Flanges to International Standards

ASME B16.5 Flanges

  • Size Range: 1/2″–24″ (DN15–DN600), suitable for most piping systems.
  • Flange Types: Weld Neck (WN), Slip-On (SO), Socket Weld (SW), Threaded (THD), Lap Joint (LJ), Blind (BL).
  • Pressure Ratings: 150# to 2500#, ensuring safe operation under various conditions.
  • Facing Options: Raised Face (RF), Flat Face (FF), Ring Type Joint (RTJ), and Male/Female (M/F) for versatile sealing.
  • Materials: Carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys — must comply with ASTM/ASME forging standards (e.g., A105, A350, A182, A694).

ASME B16.47 Series A &B Flanges

  • Size Range:26″–60″ (DN650–DN1500), designed for large-diameter piping systems.
  • Series Options:Series A (formerly MSS SP-44) and Series B (formerly API 605), meeting different design strength and bolt-load requirements.
  • Flange Types:Weld Neck (WN), Blind (BL).
  • Pressure Ratings:Class 75, 150, 300, 400, 600.
  • Facing Options:Raised Face (RF), Ring Type Joint (RTJ).
  • Materials:Carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys — must comply with ASTM/ASME forging standards (e.g., A105, A182, A350).

AWWA Flanges

  • Size Range:4″–144″ (DN100–DN3600), designed primarily for waterworks, wastewater, and low-pressure industrial piping systems.
  • Flange Types (Common Form Types):Ring Flange (most common),  Blind Flange, Hub Flange, Slip-On Flange (less common, depending on fabrication)
  • Pressure Ratings (AWWA Service Classes):Class B – up to 86 psi (0.6 MPa), Class D – up to 175 psi (1.2 MPa), Class E – up to 275 psi (1.9 MPa), Class F – up to 300 psi (2.1 MPa)
  • Facing Options:Flat Face (FF), Raised Face (RF)
